Pray for an Ilinois Prison for a Year

“I was so thrilled to know that you have ministered to the women at Decatur Prison. I have prayed that an evangelical ministry would minister to these women. I did not know that you ministered to inmates (I thought you ministered) only to those who were released. I have a granddaughter in Decatur who knows the Lord. She will not attend services there because they were not basic theology. I knew the need of a Christ-centered ministry at the prison. I thank you for ministering to these women. I thank the Lord for answer to prayer.”
--an e-mail received October 1, 2012 from a grandmother in Wheaton, IL

After receiving this message, Manny Mill contacted the grandmother and discovered that she and a few friends have been praying for Decatur Correctional Center for over one year. She asked God to send someone that would preach the gospel of Jesus Christ with truth, grace, passion and conviction. It was humbling to realize that Manny Mill and the Koinonia House National Ministries’ team were a part of God’s answer to those prayers.

Stories like this, of a grandmother’s answered prayer, motivate us to pray more. Therefore, the KHNM staff and board invite individuals and churches to pray for one specific Illinois prison, its correctional staff and prisoners for 12 months.

Clicking the image above will show a listing of the 27 Adult Correctional Centers and their location within the State of Illinois. If you choose to take on this adventure, please let us know which prison you will be praying for, as we want to see that each facility is covered in prayer. Contact us at prayer@khnm.net to let us know of your commitment.

May God be glorified and may we be changed, As we meet with Him daily for the sake of our incarcerated brothers and sisters.

“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope. . . . May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:4, 13)
